How a container load works

-
Tell us the date and container size. Call or text us once your delivery is scheduled.
-
We pad and prep. Your furniture gets wrapped, and we take apart beds and tables that need it.
-
We load it tight. Heavy pieces go in first, then furniture, then boxes, built in tight rows from the back wall forward.
-
We strap each section, so nothing slides when the container is picked up and moved.

Unloading works the same way, backwards: we carry everything inside and set your furniture where you want it, or move it into your storage unit.

Why a good load matters

A container gets lifted, tilted and driven, so a loose load is how things get broken. A tight load also uses every foot of space, which can save you from needing a second container.

Local tips for the San Marcos area

-
San Marcos apartments: many complexes near Texas State have tight parking and their own rules, so ask your office where a container can go before you book it.
-
Kyle and Buda neighborhoods: HOAs often have rules about how long a container can sit in a driveway. Check first, then we'll work around your dates.
-
Wimberley and Dripping Springs: long, sloped or gravel driveways can limit where a container can be set. Ask your container company about your driveway before delivery.
-
Lots of steps or a long walk? Tell us when you call so we send the right size crew.

Moving out of Texas by container?

Containers are a popular way to move long distance. We'll load yours here so it's ready for pickup, and the container company handles the drive. Coming to the area from out of state? Once your container arrives, we can unload it here.

No. You rent the container from PODS, U-Box or another company. We provide the crew that loads and unloads it. D&V Movers isn't affiliated with PODS or U-Haul.

How much does it cost to have a container loaded?
Every job is different, so we give you a free quote first, with no obligation. It helps to know your container size, how much you're moving, and whether there are stairs. Ask us about price matching.

Can you help on short notice?
Yes. We're open 24/7 and do same-day and last-minute jobs when a crew is available. Call or text (512) 227-4743.

Yes. Book loading, unloading or both.

Do you do container jobs in Kyle, Buda and Wimberley?
Yes, plus Dripping Springs, New Braunfels and San Antonio.

Will you take apart beds and furniture?
Yes. We take apart and put back together beds, tables and other furniture.

Can you load a piano or gun safe into a container?
For very heavy items we do a quick consultation first, so we can confirm the job and bring the right crew and equipment.
